Any student who wants to be considered for need-based aid must complete the FAFSA. We’ll use it to determine your eligibility for federal, state and institutional aid, including grants and scholarships.

Prepare before you get started.

There are a few things you can do to get ready before you begin.

First, you and your parent(s) will each need to register for your own FSA ID using social security numbers (SSN) and unique email addresses.

Next, gather the information and documents you’ll need handy while completing the FAFSA—like SSNs, tax returns and driver’s license numbers.

Stop 2

Complete and submit the FAFSA.

Log into fafsa.gov to fill out the 2024-25 FAFSA. It takes most people less than one hour to complete.

Apply for admission.

If you haven’t already, submit your application to The Citadel. It only takes a few minutes, test scores are optional, you’ll be automatically considered for most merit scholarships and you’ll receive a decision in 10 days.

Our Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will use your FAFSA information to determine your eligibility for need-based aid. You’ll receive an email when your financial aid package has posted to your student account on Lesesne Gateway.
